Omnibus | Local Authorities

Increasingly Omnibus have adapted and created new modules to meet the needs of Local Authorities, who want to be proactive in their public transport requirements. OmniTIMES (timetabling), OmniSTOP (bus stop displays), OmniFLAG (Asset Management) and PocketBUS (roadside monitoring) are now in use at over 45 local authorities in the U.K. and overseas.

OmniTIMES enables Local Authorities to create a timetable database of services, with data either created using our software or imported from other sources. OmniTIMES can create and read ATCO-Cif format files and has been developed to provide this functionality for the TransXchange format, as and when it becomes required. Many Local Authorities use OmniTIMES to supply data for export to Traveline.

Using the OmniTIMES timetable database, OmniSTOP enables bus stop displays to be produced in a variety of styles and formats. Batch printing processes allow all the stops for a route or series of routes to be produced in a single process.

PocketBUS allows the OmniTIMES database to be downloaded to a handheld computer and to be interrogated in a variety of ways. Full departure listing for any point can be displayed with the ability to record actual departures times against scheduled.

OmniFLAG is a Bus Stop Asset Management Module that creates and maintains a database of features relating to all bus stops. It allows records of stops, shelters, pavements styles, nearby facilities etc, with the ability to record the items such as state of repair.

Several Local Authorities now use a combination of Omnibus products to record and manage their transport infrastructure from one data source, saving time and money whilst enhancing the service provided to passengers.
